X 200 Battery Drain during Hibernation

With everything turned off (Wake on LAN, Flash over LAN, modem....etc.) my new X 200/Win 7 Pro still drain around 3-5% over a period of 8 hours of hibernation. No battery drain if I use Shutdown to turn off the PC.
This has happened before with my X61s/Vista. Microsoft issued a hot fix (article ID: 970030) last July and my battery drain problem was solved. Does anyone know how to stop the battery drain problem on my X200?

Lenovo has just informed me they're able to recreate the battery drain problem on X200/Win 7 and will follow up with Microsoft.

Hi efrant,
Hot off the press, Lenovo called me up this morning and suggested the following procedures should stop the battery drain.
1. In Control Panel, Run "Lenovo's Power Controls" (Power Manager v3.2)
2. Under Power Plan folder, select "Energy Star",
3. Click "Restore default settings".
4. Under "Advanced settings"-> "Allow wake timers:",
Select "Disable" for both Battery settings and AC settings.
5. Under "Advanced settings" -> "Wireless adapter settings" and "PCI express"
Select "Maximum power savings".
6. Click "Apply" and "OK".
After the above settings, Lenovo noticed only 1% drop in battery power over a 30 hours period which I consider as acceptable. I'm testing the above settings; suggest you and other owners try the same and revert.

Is this for all Thinkpads or just the x200?

Lenovo has only tested X200. They've been able to improve battery drain from 3%/8 hours to 1%/30 hours with the above settings.
Try it and let me know your results.

Thanks a lot for your information. I did clean install of Windows 7 and Energy Star profile is missing.
Would much appreciate if you advise Battery and AC options that are selected. Hope I would be able to create create the Energy Star power plan by myself.

I didn't have to create an Energy Star profile. It was a default/standard profile when I first received my Lenovo X200.
I did a Win 7 re-installation of my X200 and the Energy Star profile was there too. May be your re-installation disks were corrupted.

To all battery drain sufferers:
After testing several days, I can confirm that the Lenovo recommendation does work. My X200 battery has stopped draining during hibernation.
Hope you all can achieve the same result.

I did clean install using retail win 7 disk not recovery disks. After installing all required drivers from Lenovo site energy star plan is missing (((
Any idea how to get energy star plan?

Yerbol,
Just choose any profile and disable the Wake timer.
