Tablet Screen (IPS) Need Advice

#1 Post by davepol » Wed Feb 24, 2010 10:41 am

Hi
I'm planning to buy thinkpad tablet, but I would really like to have a better screen hence my question is: Does every thinkpad x200 tablet come with better screen (then x200 non-tablet versions) or only certain versions?

thanks,
davepol

I would check the specs. IPS has improved viewing angles and better color. That feature would be highlighted under the LCD options.

All X200 Tablets have better screens, in the sense of colors and viewing angles. They are all PVA/IPS/FFS screens (depending on model),whereas all the non-tablet models have TN.

Collectibles: T430s (IPS FHD + Classic Keyboard), X32 (IPS Screen)
Retired: X61 7673-V2V, A31p w/ Ultrabay Numpad
Past: Z61t 9440-A23, T60 2623-D3U, X32 2884-M5U

According to anecdotal evidence it is possible to get an IPS screen on enhanced multitouch X200 tablets. All the other screen types are PVA. Keep in mind that IPS screens are not guaranteed; Lenovo seems to have PVA screens in enhanced multitouch screens as well. I suppose its sort of like the lottery situation Dell had with its 2007WFP.
