Is there any option to add a Blu-ray Burner to a X300?

Is there any option to add a Blu-ray Burner to a X300?

#1 Post by adecastr » Thu Feb 25, 2010 9:37 am

Hi all,

Does anybody knows if there are any ThinkPad Blu-ray/DVD Burner drives available for a Thinkpad X300 on the market?
I have been looking for one and the closest i have found it was this on the web:

http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/cont ... ag_43N3295&

It doesn't say if it is for a Thinkpad X300

After more than a week looking in the Internet that's all what I have found.

I even did call Lenovo in The Netherlands and after several transfers from one service department to another.
Nobody seems to know if exists or it is available.

Thank you for your time.

Cheers,

António.

No, check the hardware maintenance manual. The only optical drive for it is DVDRW. If you want a bd-r you'd have to go external.

I doubt you'll see it on the X302 either. The X30x series uses a super slim 7.5mm optical drive. It's why they're so thin, but as far as I know, no one is making a 7.5mm Blu-ray drive.
