Unusable finger touch with x200 and win7

Hallo,

Searching or Google for similar topics was my first step, unfortunately with no results, so I am sorry if I overlooked any helpful discussion.
My issue is related to my recently purchased x200 tablet with Multitouch (7450-EDU). The notebook is used but only one year old and optically you wouldn't be able to discern whether it is new or not. So even if my source lied I would exclude any hardware damage.
Although Vista Business was included and preinstalled I skipped testing it and made a clean Windows 7 (64bit) installation via PXE following with an installation of all drivers from the Lenovo webpage.
After that I have been able to use the pen but not the finger touch because the finger recognition works only if I press pretty hard on the screen. For this reason option like scrolling cannot be used with the finger. But even I press the cursor emerges several centimeters above the touched position which is why I assumed a faulty calibration. After playing with the touch setting, however, there was no real difference to the finger touch behavior.
I would be really happy if some could advise me what to do. Maybe a new installation, different drivers, some unset preferences, etc.?
Thanks a lot in advance.

According to you the finger touch works but requires a hard press. Could there be a setting somewhere that increases the sensitivity of the screen?

After some usage and several tries to calibrate the finger touch I am so far that l do not have to press with full power anymore. It is even possible to scroll somehow.
Nevertheless l wonder why the pressure is even issue. Doesn't the screen recognize my finger through a voltage difference?

Touch screen surface circuits can be resistive or capacitive. The screen in your tablet is capacitive.

Thank you!
Still, I don't think it is normal that finger touch navigation is so hard to use. At least users on youtube do not have so much trouble as l have.

Edit: Well, the screen seems to recognize my finger nails without pressing. I think that is enough for me and this issue is solved somehow.

I have an x201, but I opted for Multitouch. My presses are very soft.. pretty much like an iPad/iPhone etc.. It is not normal that you need to press hard. I would take it to a repair shop and get their take on it.
