Fujitsu T900 or X201T, which one is better?

#1 Post by doveric » Mon Mar 01, 2010 7:48 am

Both are expensive high-end tablet. Fujitsu is made in Japan but Thinkpad has a longer history plus it is a legacy of IBM.
But T900 has a 13.3 inch screen which provide more real estate when working in the tablet mode.

Which one will you guys choose?

T900 sounds like a Thinkpad (19" Thinkpad!?).

I'll throw in my .02...I left thinkpads around the X41 coming out completely till last week - and went to Fujitsu. I've had a fujitsu as the travling unit since the mid 90s. They were always smaller than the thinkpads, and usually touchscreen - with a unique touch - and reliable. They are both built for 'enterprise' class - They are both very IT friendly, They are both well supported - and not blandly like a dell. Each has had their 'dogs' - more so for Fujitsu - but in the end - both last - both work. Fujitsu was always better with Hardware - and I think they last longer, but there were very limited on configurations / options (Thinpad has 200 seperate models for a class, fujitsu will have 5).
Their best was either P1510 or my beloved B2131 - which I still have (400mhz celeron touchscreen) whose HDD just gave out end of last year - she's seen some 1,000,000 plus actual miles on planes. I had their p1120 (crusoe - ug) - but still have it, and the last ones were the P1510, P1620, P1630... The P1510 used a 1.8" 5mm drive - dog slow but still a road warriors dream... Their hardware build quality I'd rate above IBM/lenovo. I went through 5+ X31 - which was an awesome unit - but the motherboards didn't last. The T40s didn't impress, the old T20 was killer (best ever?) - and if I kept I am SURE it would still be chugging along (exceptional series), and the newer ones seem really nice.
IBM and now Lenovo was always better with configurations and software, and a much better website...
I go through these often - but my 'primary' always last me 5 + years... B2131 to P1510D to X200... Fujitsu doesn't seem to be listening to their core fans these days and has killed the 8.9" convertibles as they think a bigger screen is better... Depending upon you needs the Thinkpads will offer much more in terms of customized fit and options, and more bang for your buck today.

Fujitsu P1510D PM753 1.2, 2g, 30gb (photofast 30gb ssd waiting patiently to install)... Lenovo or Fujitsu - only the finest.
