Help needed on activating a Sierra Wireless MC5725 WWAN!!!!!

Hi all,

I have a Thinkpad X300 which has a Sierra Wireless MC5725 WWAN on it.
I know that it is a unlocked card, at least that's what I have been told so.
The issue is that I'm in Europe (The Netherlands) and I have a Vodafone SIM card that works with the Sierra Wireless MC8775.

The reason that I want to have the Sierra Wireless MC5725 is because I know that this one has GPS as well.
Does anybody knows how to activate it?

Do you think that I have to buy a Verizon SIM card in order to enable it and that after that should work with any SIM card?

I have Windows 7 installed.

Any Help is more than welcome!!

Cheers,

Adecastr.

The MC5725 is an EV-DO (CDMA) card -- it uses a different communications and authentication standards than the HSPA (GSM) standard used in Europe. The MC5725 does not use a SIM card. It authenticates via its built-in ESN. Using an MC5725 in Europe is the same as using it on the moon, i.e., no one is "listening".

Use the MC8775, which is a GSM card, with whatever SIM you like. Use DC Unlocker to enable GPS, if that functionality exists but is disabled on your card.
