X200 Battery Capacity Draining

#1 Post by zobomoho » Tue Mar 02, 2010 3:48 am

Hey guys. I purchased a Thinkpad x200 brand new at about mid-december with a 9-cell battery. Full charge capacity started out at 84.24, and quickly declined. On my last charge cycle, it dropped from 82.93 to 80.20, and this was after I recalibrated it and recovered some battery life. My question is: is this normal? Would another battery reset fix this sudden drop?

I use my laptop on a daily basis on battery. Sometimes, it even lasts me two days, but I always wait until the battery goes to under 10 percent to charge it back to 100. I have it so that when it is plugged in and above 25%, it won't charge. Also, according to the battery gauge, I have had 26 cycles on this battery. It is a Panasonic.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm just wondering why the sudden drop in capacity, and is it fixable?

Thanks guys!

Given daily use on battery for over two+ months, and 26 full battery cycles, there's nothing particularly sudden or unexpected about the capacity you are showing.

nvm, I just did another battery reset, and the capacity jumped back up to 82.41. Weird...
