x301 and Qualcomm hs-usb 9202

#1 Post by jamaicada » Sun Mar 07, 2010 3:51 pm

Hello!
Is there any chance to unlock my Qualcomm hs-usb 9202 (was built-in, x301 from ebay) from Verizon? In my country there is no Verizon Wireless and I can't even activate it.
I'm not sure that lenovo support give me an unlock code.
Also, how can I use gps in this device? Lenovo gps enabler do nothing.
Thanks in advance.

I found little workaround to get gobi 1000 (Qualcomm hs-usb 9202) working...
1. First of all, install drivers from lenovo.com site. Double check that device is ready.
2. Reboot
3. Find Options.txt for Qualcomm Gobi Download Service
For Windows Xp C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
For Windows 7/Vista C:\ProgramData\QUALCOMM\QDLService
and edit number in path to firmware. For me default was "0" - Vodafone

Code: Select all

Vodafone 0
Verizon 1
AT&T 2
Sprint 3
T-Mobile 4
Generic UMTS (North America) 5
Generic UMTS (Europe) 6
Telefonica 7
TIM 8
Orange 9
Telstra 10
and I change it to "6" Generic UMTS (Europe)
4. Reboot
5. Download and unpack Sony OneClick Intenet from ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/pub/VAIO/Origin ... .1_ENU.zip
6. Edit config.ini - change InstallSilent to 0
7. Install it.
8. Run and connect :)

P.S Seems that nobody checks if modem locked except lenovo access connections program.
