x301 memory remapping

#1 Post by jamaicada » Sun Mar 07, 2010 8:29 pm

Hello!
How can I use all 4Gb of memory without memory remapping in BIOS? There is no such option.
Windows 7 32bit shows only 2.96. Is there any workaround?
GM45 chipset supports up to 8gb. It's only Lenovo limitation?

It's a 32bit OS limitation. Run Win 7 64 bit and you'll use all of your RAM.

My x301 w/ 2 x 2gb sticks shows 3992mb total usable space on Windows 7 64bit. I think the intel 4500 graphics takes some for video memory.
X301 - C2D SU9400 (1.4ghz), 4GB DDR3, Intel X18-M G2 , W7 64bit
X41 Tablet - PM 758 (1.5ghz), 1.5gb DDR2, 60gb 4200rpm, XP Pro
