X200 Tablet Multiview/Multitouch Screen Malfunction

As you might have guessed this is about a screen malfunction. The past few days my tablet has acted very peculiar. First I had problems with onenote, where ink was moved around without any interaction on my part, and now this.
Two days ago the screen just showed up as on the pictures and no matter what I did I couldn't find the cause or any solution. I powered down and turned the tablet on after having waited for a few minutes and just like that the problem was gone. I have had several encounters with the same problem from that moment forward – and it drives me up the walls :s
I don't want to send it in to Lenovo yet, as the tablet is my primary workstation and because the problem is sporadic - sometimes it is present other times all is fine and dandy. Lenovo want to replace, and i know from experience that it takes a looong time :) :P

So I'm asking here to see if anybody has encountered similar problems or know what may be the cause of said problems.

The video where the problem is clearly shown: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epfVEo6iVVw
pictures of the screen: http://img297.imageshack.us/g/img3777r.jpg/

Edit:
I have run Memtest and HDD tests to rule these two components out - and all PC doctor tests are passed.

Welcome to the forum. It's probably bad Video RAM. Run the PC-Doctor video tests.

Do the artifacts show up on an external monitor?

I don't know as it has never happened while it was connected to an external monitor - though sometimes there is a small amount of flickering when i connect a projector, but disconnecting and reconnecting always solve the problem.

Problem solved :D

I still don't know what the cause was, but i suspect that i was software related - the reason why? Easy peasy lemon squeezy! I installed "Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB976264)" and tada: the problem was fixed, no more ugly artifacts on the screen

Watching that video brought back bad memories of when my t41 had the gpu issue. I am glad to hear that it was a software and not a hardware problem.

hardware malfunction was also one of my main worries, not that it couldn't be fixed but rather the repair time-frame is what i was concerned about. Specially because the x200t is my only mobile workstation.
