Can my X200 be upgrade to AFFS LCD HV121WX4?

My X200's model is 7454-CTO. Recently its screen has broken so I have to replace the LCD panel. Because of the post by khtse, I'm thinking of buying a HV121WX4 instead of another LTD121EWVB (the model actually installed in my X200). However I'm confused by the discussion following (those LED, backlit and cord compatibility things). How do I know if my laptop is compatible with this AFFS LCD or not?

Moreover, I found a blisscomputers selling BOEHYDIS HV121WX4-120 in a pretty good price compared to eBay. However its LCD is glossy, not matte as mentioned in khtse's post. Could I trust this seller and buy this panel?

This is my first thread in this forum. Please forgive me if I forgot to post any detailed information. Thank you very much.

UPDATE: Any opinion on this HV121WX4-110 screen on eBay? Will it be compatible with my X200? I ask the seller whether it is compatible or not with my laptop and he replied as "Not compatible. Must be an exact replacement."

This thread may help you determine if you've got a CCFL or LED backlight:

The LTD121EWVB is a CFFL screen. It should should be straight swap, though you may/probably will have to remove the digitizer/touch surface depending on which LCD you end up with.

I was thinking of picking a X200. I had some discussions with BlissComputers about the HV121WX4-120 they had listed. I emailed asking Bliss why it was listed as a 120 and glossy, as the 120 is supposed be the matte version of the LCD. They emailed me back asking me which laptop I had. I replied what did that have to do with my question and got a non-committal response. My best guess is it is a compatible screen and not a Hydis LCD. If you want a HV121WX4, I think eBay is your best option unless someone like khtse happens to bring some over again. There was a 120 on eBay, but it sold for $300. That probably means you will probably end up with the glossy version if that's OK. There seems to be a lot of leftover Gateway screens that have made there way onto eBay. The Gateways were glossy. Oh yeah, welcome to Thinkpads.com.

Thanks guys! My screen is a CCFL panel. So I guess it means I could use a HV121WX4 instead.

I highly doubt the screen that the screen blisscomputers selling is HV121WX4-120. First of all the -120 is a matte one, and the price that they are asking for is too good to be true (that's even lower than the price you need to pay to get this panel in China).

"It will only work if your existing LCD has printed number HV121WX4-120 on it." Given its price and the vague description provided by them, it sounds like it is a replacement panel (probably TN) compatible with laptops that are using the HV121WX4-120 screen. A replacement that will "work" but probably doesn't have the quality that match the HV121WX4-120. But that's my guess only.

btw, they also have the crappiest description of a monitor I have ever seen
Widescreen LCDs have a wide viewing angle. Such LCDs have a better readability and does not require the viewer to adjust the screen often.

Here is the reply from blisscomputers
Again we deal with compatible part numbers. Means when you buy HV121WX4-120 we will not send you exact HV121WX4-120 but we will send you compatible to it from other brand. I don’t want customer to try out LCD and then we figure out he made one compatibility assumption and we made one and then whole thing gets confused. I would suggest to try other resellers who might have exact in case if you want try and see if it works.

http://www.screentekinc.com etc deals with exact number.
