My question will look like a total newbie..... but I am!

PC3-8500 belongs to the same DDR3 family so I thought it might work.
Does anybody ever tried putting PC3-10600 on X200?

If so, how's the performance improvement compared to PC3-8500?

We're all newbies at some point. The X200 has a 1066 FSB. Using faster memory will do you no good, though it will probably work.

There is a possibility that at lower FSB the DDR 1333 RAM will have lower latency than the 1066 modules however it will not produce a noticeable performance boost... Just find the best quality RAM at the cheapest price and you'll be laughing.
