#1 Post by johnp126 » Fri Apr 09, 2010 4:40 pm

having issues, using acronis to clone, the 256 (tried 2 different ones both lenovo) one was a samsung and one a toshiba. both seem to slow down when trying to open windows and you can see the hard drive light spinning wildly. can i have 2 bad drives?

Have you tried doing a clean install just to see if there is something weird going on with the current install?

have not tried that, its odd i think there might be a problem with the disk controller. on some of the disks i can't even install the toolbox to test it, the drive passed the bios test. not sure how else to test

Sometimes odd stuff just happens. I would try doing a fresh install and seeing if you still have the issue.

If you do, you have really bad luck.

You can also use bootable diagnostics discs from the manufacturers. I am pretty sure at least Samsung offers their own.
