x300 Ethernet port question

I support 10 original X300's in my organization and they are approaching 2 years old. I have found that 5 of them now have ethernet jacks that no longer click in the cable, or in other words the cable can just pop out. This is sad as it is a great machine except for a 50% failure rate on the ethernet jacks. In looking at the design of these jacks it appears they only have the locking mechanism on one side of the jack where as a standard jack would hold the jack clip from two sides, this would lead me to believe a cable could easily twist in the jack and cause this one locking point to fail. Has anyone else had this experience with these first gen X300's? Also did Lenovo stand behind their product and repair them under warranty? Thanks in advance.

I know this is an old post but it is the same issue I am having.
I support over 20 X300's and most of them have experienced the broken Ethernet jack. After this became a chronic issue Lenovo agreed to check out one of the units but still did not take responsibility. We had to pay to fix it. It requires the replacement of the motherboard. I have supported thousands of other PC's and laptops and can't remember a single failure like this. I currently support over 100 T400's and all of them are fine. I would like to see Lenovo take responsibility for this issue so please post if you have had experience with this issue.
Thanks,
Jack

I was able to get them to replace the 10 I had for free as I was currently in negotiations to buy about $250K worth of new laptops from Lenovo and mentioned I may go talk to Dell. They quickly sent me 10 repair boxes.
