x201 upgrades, 3G card possibilities, 4G?

Hi guys

I am an old thinkpad fan, and usually I buy top spec versions, but this time I got a good offer on a "normal" x201. Right now I am using a Vaio P, so not my fault if there are any typos ;)

First of, it does not have 3G card, can I add this myself? Is there a sim slot etc. Also which card to get, the gobi 2000 is around 200usd, and cheaper would be fine hehe. My old x200t uses that terrible ericsson card which disconnects every 30min, so that card is a no go for me (or has it been firmware fixed?)
How about 4G cards, anyone supported? I live in Denmark btw so 4G is no problem.

Also the palmrest, I got one without that touchpad thing, thank god... but also it does not have fingerprint reader, does anyone know I can buy that part (palmrest) and where.

Regards Jesper

There are no true 4G services as yet, so be VERY WARY about any service provider who claims to be offering 4G services... it usually means they are trying to spin one of the existing 3G technologies to be something that it is not.

4G has been around for years, we have had here in Denmark for the last 5 years or so, but only in major cities. In Norway, Sweden and Finland I belive they have had 4G even longer, 4G was annaonced at the same time as 3G I belive, but it was Nokia tech, e.g. Nokia had their first 4G phones years ago.

The US is commonly thought of as being about 5 years behind us here in Scandinavia, e.g. we fiberoptics in most parts of the country as do they in Sweden where most people have 100/100mbit.

But then how about the 3G card, which one to choose? Which models are supportet in bios?
