not getting the exact specs as ordered

I've noticed the laptop's specs are not _exactly_ as I've ordered. One of the built in options is not the one I've ordered.

They don't detail the laptop extra-features (like the extra Gigs) just laptop as total and price.
How do I know what exactly I've ordered? I have my options written down on a txt file, with the start price and the price for every option. After each extra-option checked, the new total is noted too.
Also the total at the checkout, coupon, extra sales tax, everything related to customization.

Any suggestions of how to start the process? Ideas? The x301 is originally bought from US then crossed the ocean. Obviously, I am not happy with this but sending back to US is not a solution.

Who did you buy it from?

If you know the machine type and serial #, you can plug them into the following link. Then on the next page shown select the parts list.
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... yle=lenovo

Bought from Lenove, online. I thought it's the only place where you can have a CTO from.

entering the serial number I get the warranty status, which is fine.
"...limited warranty which includes a ThinkPlus warranty upgrade. This product is entitled to parts and labor and is entitled to EZServ... "
I dont see anywhere the parts from my system listed; the 2777-CTO list the generic model, not my own.

Any idea If/where I can find my own system listed? Thank you.

Listen/read carefully...again. On the page you get after entering your warranty information there is a link on the bottom that says show the parts list for this system, or something close to that. Click on it. It will list the original shipped parts. Compare that to your invoice. Post them both here if you need help. The fact of the matter is that you should be speaking to Lenovo about your concern.

BTW, this is a matter which you can only resolve yourself by calling Lenovo.

Not sure what you mean when you say you bought it from Lenovo. I doubt they ship to your country.

Harryc,
Apologies and thank you. It did not jump into my eyes. Even after I checked again I thought it's the general parts/information page, but went with your suggestion and found it.

I see the specs from site seems to match the order but the actual hardware does not :-(

I think I have to talk to Lenovo now.. I've ever imagined it can happen with such an expensive product, not to have a Q/A check. Very but very disappointing.

Thank you again for patience.

So, all I got out of your original post was that you ordered some amount of RAM and you've now received the machine only to find less than ordered...is that correct? Seems to me that can be easily rectified by Lenovo.

Braddah, its its only a RAM issue as HarryC said it can be resloved easily. Did you downgrade the OS? If went to XP then the extra RAM may not show.

It sounds like a friend took delivery of it in the US and then sent it to you? If it's a ram issue, how much do you trust your friend? I sent someone a money order for a car part (no longer made part can only be had used....). The guy told me before I sent it that he is going out of town but his roommate will keep an eye out for the money order. A few weeks later the guy asks me if I sent my money order. I told him I sure did and to talk to his roommate. His roommate tells him it never came, and the guy says he would trust his roommate with his life, childhood friends, etc etc. I filed a lost money order form with the post office...came back with a copy of the back of the cashed money order. Roommate had forged the signature and endorsed it over to himself.

Nah, the guy sent me my part and said he'd handle it. I didn't ask what that meant. It was only $100 too, imagine stealing from your best friend/roommate over $100.

Hi everyone. I'm trying to clarify the situation because the order is fine (thus all money are paid) but the specs.. I'm not sure they are.

The Windows OS will display in Device Manager whatever is written on the driver's INF fine. If the driver matches a family of drivers (the hardware belongs to) then it will install happily and report the hardware as advised on the INF file.
I know this, I've done it many times when I did not find the driver CD :-)

I have some doubts.. Could someone help me (post or PM ?) with his order specs AND how are they listed under Unix or Linux?
I'm more interested in:
-3G card
-intel 5300AGN
-keyboard type
as see in lspci, dmesg, lsusb ...

Thank you in advance!

I have no PM so... Can anyone point where I could get these from? :-)

Googling around I've noticed some differences, this is why I ask. Lenovo is sending me to an authorized service to check by dissembling the laptop. I'd like to avoid dissembling this little cutie :-(

Thank you in advance.
