Increase the volume on the speakers? Way too low even on max

So one thing I've noticed is that the speakers simply do not get loud compared to even netbooks that I've used. Even at level 50 and the Windows + Media Player volume at 100%, it's still hard to hear things. Is there a workaround to fix this (I would assume) common issue?

hi......First - I make sure and check that the 'drivers' match the 'hardware' etc
Also might want to check VOLUME settings in (as therre are many places in Xp) some of the following items are....:
a) BIOS - sound levels
b) Drevice Manager (sound) > uncheck defaults
c)Hotkey settings or (Thinkvantage Apps etc)
Hope this helps...

You could always raise the levels for each frequency range in the SmartAudio software, though this would reduce the quality of the sound.
