New X200 owner questions

I'm a proud new owner of a X200, and would like to ask a couple of questions,
a) Can I use the 9cell or 12++ battery on my 7449 model? -- I guess it will, sales didn't at first seem to list it.
b) Will the lenovo messenger case, the one for the tablet screen exposed also fit the X200 with the ultrabase attached? -- it is dimension 1.8" thick
c) My install is from Lenova X200 Windows 7 recovery disks, I tried to talk with both Lenova and Microsoft trying to get a serial for OS software activation, I was told the serial corresponds with the number engraved on the inner clear part of the cds, but could get no further help, my X200 has a Vista sticker on the back, so is the recovery set work only with an upgrade a registered Vista install?
d) Is it feasable to upgrade the 5100 to 5300 or WiMax wireless card and
e) also to a screen with a camera - like a X201 screen w/2mb camera?
My multitouch will not support multi-fingered touch I find.
f) deleted -- as upgrade was on win7 recovery disks
g) There is a bios or some boot up option that will boot into a internet capable linux-like vm of some sort, how to tell if I have this? -- I tried to look into TPM and it's to scary to try to figure it out

I've been updating and finding the softwares, desktop wallpapers, lenova screensavers, access or thinkvantage help, tools & utilities
Thanks for any advice - Kevin

hi,

i read your post but no one has responded. i have an x200. about a year old. mine got vista sticker, vista pre-installed and windows xp downgrade cd.

reply to c) - sort of
when win7 was released, i managed to get hold of the lenovo win7 dvd (2 pcs) from a friend and i used it to install win7 in 2 different ways. (1) install win7 over the newly installed vista; and (2) install win7 on hdd with totally nothing in it. both worked perfectly and no problems encountered. however, after installation - win7 notifies that i have 2 days to activate and will required win7 key to be able to activate. i am using win7 now.

if you have win7 pre-installed, i suggest you make a backup of the activation. i have made mine. and i have already re-installed win7 3 times to test my activation backup. you don't need to re-activate everytime you reinstall/recover win7.

reply to e)
i think the built-in camera is only 1.3 megapixel. mine got the camera.

reply to h)
maybe you refer to the thinkvantage blue button at the upper left part of the keyboard. when you boot-up the x200, and the lenovo logo comes out - press that button and see for yourself.

hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply - I edited a few parts above just now. I wish the activation part was easier- useless to call support either Lenovo/IBM/or MS - I used another OEM license.

e) My X200 didn't have the camera. I purchased the 2MP camera parts for the X201 from a forum member and added it. Pretty simple, just need to remove screen bezel, plug in the camera, then install the camera driver for the X201. Works fine with any webcam program.

Hmmm. Do you happen to remember the FRU to that camera? I'm definitely interested in that upgrade.

How was that, removing screws, etc., you didn't have to take the screen off the tablet? much effort?

Bezel removal:

Camera installation:

The most difficult part was prying the bezel off after removing the screws. It requires a little bit of force.
