Hi;

Newbie thinkpad owner - be gentle...

I am looking at getting a cheap 4-cell for travel with my x201. There does not seem to be much going on eBay, but there are lots of batteries for the x200.
Looking at the specs, seems like they might fit, and the model number is the same (43R9253)...

here is one of many I have found:

any help would be muchos appreciated

Welcome to the forum!
X200 and X201 use the same batteries, i.e., using the new Lenovo nomenclature, the ThinkPad Battery 47 (4-cell), 47+ (6-cell), and 47++ (9-cell).

Thanks for that;

I did email that retailer I linked to in my previous post - they replied with a quick no. I have a feeling tho that it was just a
stock answer.

I will go for that battery, and confirm that it does indeed fit.

I bought a 4-cell off of Newegg. (It wasn't cheap.) It works fine. I also bought a 90-watt AC adapter from a local source (got that at about half-price from brand new). With the 90W you can run the X201 without any battery installed and the CPU won't be throttled back.
