Integrated camera: Give it to me straight doc

#1 Post by donatellojones » Mon Jul 26, 2010 10:28 pm

Thinkpadders,

Does an X201i or X201s exist that has an integrated camera (for video chat)?

I was thinking of going with an X201i but I can't seem to find a config with a camera.

Thank you

Here's one way to see if it exists:

- Download the Hardware Maintenance Manual for the X200/X201 systems: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-70149
- Look through the parts list near the back of the manual and see which models have the integrated camera (it appears that only the WXGA screens have the capability for the camera)
- Figure out which TYPEs apply to X201i or X201s (???)

Or you could simply try Google (thinkpad model type x201i camera) and see if there's any TYPE listed for any of the hits.... like these two:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... ry=3323KNG

And you can try looking through the PSREF sheets: http://www.lenovo.com/psref/pdf/tabook.pdf (for current systems)
http://www.lenovo.com/psref/pdf/ltwbook.pdf (for withdrawn systems)
