You need to be cautious and consider that they do not come with a warranty longer than what is stated. In other words, you cannot purhcase a warranty extension. So if its is 1 year that will be it. IMO, the tradeoff is not worth it unless he price point for the item falls within your personal budget as a disposable item at the 1 year mark. An x100e to travel with or take to Starbucks etc. would be he kind of machine to purchase at the outlet. This is based on my understanding of the new outlet warranty policies.

This is not true. You can purchase a post-warranty upgrade anytime within the first year of ownership and until 30 days before your 1 year warranty expires.

That's for a new machine purhcased through the normal marketing channels ---- not for an outlet machine.
