Display port to HDMI adapter not working

Hi All

I brought a Display port to HDMI adapter (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.20775) and use a HDMI-HDMI cable to connect my Thinkpad X301 with my TV. However, the TV says that it received an unsupported format signal. I heard that the display port is not compatible with HDMI. Do you have any idea what should I do to get it work?
