X200 does it have 3x3?

#1 Post by nullface » Tue Oct 12, 2010 9:02 pm

When i tryed to fix my super sensitive WiFi button I noticed that my WiFi card was hooked up to two connectors but a third unused was present.

Does this mean it has 3x3 and i could use my Ultimate-N with full 3x3?

I don't know what you mean about Ultimate-N, if that's a specific card/brand/AP but if you buy the Intel 5300 Wi-Fi card it utilizes all 3 antenna.

if you have no integrated camera installed, then the antenna setup for the wireless card is 3x3, regardless of whether you have the intel 5100 or the 5300 wireless card.

But if you have the integrated camera, then there would be only 2 wifi antennas. So basically, if you ordered the integrated camera with the X200, then you should just get the intel 5100 wireless card, rather than the intel 5300 wireless card.
