Hi people what is your experience with SSD?
Is there any real difference between the traditional Hard Disk?
What brand/model do you recommend in order to upgrade a thinkpad?
What is the correct size 1.8" or 2.5"?
Thanks.

This has been talked about to death here and elsewhere, but still...
Yes, there is a difference. Yes, it is a major one. A good SSD can produce dramatic improvements in performance and durability.
The X20x(s) will accept any 2.5" SATA II drive.
My recommendation would be the Intel X25-M; it's pretty affordable, and Intel's drives have a very good track record with regards to reliability.

Intel has the third generation of their SSDs coming out soon, which should be worth the wait.
The Intel drives are always a smart choice.

Honestly, even the first-gen drives are great. In fact, if you're using an OS without TRIM support, they're superior; the second-generation drives suffer greater, more rapid performance degradation if TRIM isn't used.
