X200s Fingerprint problem
Ok I know some people where having trouble with the fingerprint scanner not working after standby, but I don't think my problem is related.
I just received a new x200s with Win7. I proceded to set up my password and scan in a couple fingers. Which all worked fine.
Did a reboot and logged in fine.
I then proceeded to change the computer name and computer description in system properties.
After a required reboot, I scanned my finger only to recieve an error something to the effect of incorrect user name or something like that.
I then clicked switch user selected my user name and typed in my password. The system logged in and presented me with the set up fingerprint window again with no fingerprints showing bening stored.
I then attempted to add my fingerprint again. Where I received this error:
"the swiping finger has been enrolled before, and cannot be re-enrolled"
Why is this happening and how can I reset the fingerprints scanned in so I can fix this.
Thanks
Mike Snyder

Re: X200s Fingerprint problem
to fix this you'll have to delete all fingerprints from the system and re-enroll everything.

Re: X200s Fingerprint problem
I tried hitting delete all finger prints.
That didn't seem to do anything.
I also tried exporting the fingerprints from all users and importing them to the new user which did not work either.
Is there another way to delete all fingerprints for all users. As hitting delete fingerprints seems to only work for the current user.

Re: X200s Fingerprint problem
try clearing the reader from the BIOS.
i had this problem once on my X301. the authentec reader didn't play well with my installation of server 2008 R2 (which was from an image rather than a clean install) and kept complaining about enrollment. clearing the reader from the BIOS and the software did the trick.

Re: X200s Fingerprint problem
Thanks a bunch, worked great. I didn't know that existed.
For anyone else interested. Within the Bios under the Security Tab there is an option to reset the stored fingerprints.
