Recently, Lenovo refreshed the X201's i5 CPU to the i5-560M. Introduced in September, the 560M includes Intel's Execute Disable bit for antimalware. This feature is not found on the alternative CPU--the i7-620. Wouldn't this feature be a compelling reason to order an X201 with the lower-priced i5?

NX/XD bit feature is present on all CPUs since at least Core generation (and some Pentium IV CPUs supported it as well).

What made you think that i5 has such an advantage?

When I compared the two chips at CPU-world.com, I thought that "Execute Disable bit" was listed only for the i5-560M. I see now that it's also listed for the i7-620M. I just checked again, and it appears I was wrong. Never mind!

Even if really was not listed for i7-620, it is clearly a CPU-world mistake. NX/XD feature is not used to segment CPUs starting from Core; virtualization feature is not used to segment CPUs starting from Core i3/i5/i7; the only segmentation feature they have right now are HyperThreading and TurboBoost.
