RAM in X301

If an X301 is sold with 2 GB of RAM, is it 1 x 2 GB or 2 x 1 GB? Would the RAM modules be usable in a ThinkPad Edge? Looking at specs in ltwbook.pdf (X301) and slbook.pdf (Edge), I see both use PC3-8500 1066MHz DDR3 / 204-pin SO-DIMM. So my idea would be to recycle the 2 GB in the X301 (assuming it's a single stick) in the Edge, since I will be putting 2 x 4 GB in the X301.

more than likely it's a single 2GB module in the X301.   none of the US-market preconfigured systems shipped with two 1GB modules that i'm aware.

Yes, the memory should work in the Edge.

Thanks, Erik & Fred! Sounds good: I'll be able to recycle the 2 GB from the X301 in a 2 GB Edge (which has 64-bit Win 7 Home Premium).

I got both the X301 and the Edge. I can confirm both had 1 x 2 GB, and I was able to remove the 2 GB from the X301 and install it in the Edge, for a total of 4 GB. Will now install 2 x 4 GB (Kingston) in the X301.
