Hey all,

When I do factory restore on my machine, I'm not quite happy with state of system (obviously), I uninstall all unwanted bloatware, install stuff which I need etc. And I would like to streamline this process as much as possible. Question: if I create image with Acronis with option to preserve every sector in the image and possibly even preserve empty sectors as well (space is not a problem), once I actually use this image to restore the drive to the initial condition does that mean that my factory RNR partition will no longer work as it was designed ? Or it may still work ? Anyone got any experience with that.

I know what some of you might say - "Just create recovery disks, and erase recovery partition alltogether", however I've already created 1 copy of those discs and lost em, and ordering another copy from lenovo seems like a horrible hassle. So I would like to preserve the partition as it is with Acronis image, even if I had the discs, I would still like to keep the partition.

Maybe those of you who have experience with this kind of stuff could suggest any other type of software which may be more suited for the purpose.

MANY thanks in advance!

Acronis will clone the recovery partition as well as any other partitions that you have.

my understanding was that, recovery partition is somehow tied up with bios, what are the chances that acronis is going to spoil those nifty details embedded by lenovo ?

or is cloning sector by sector pretty much perfect and i have nothing to worry about ?
