please excuse my lack of knowledge but could someone let me know what the SIM card slot behind the battery is for on my X201?

I am presuming it is an option I dont have but still have the slot? It does have contacts etc there and a picture of how to fit the SIM but not sure how I would know if it works,

When I ordered it I went for ...

"12.1" WXGA LED Panel, 2x2 UltraConnect II antenna; with Camera and Wireless Broadband Upgradeable"

but not...

"Integrated Mobile Broadband (Gobi 2000 3G with GPS)"

But as it does say "upgradable" what does this mean? Im not that bothered but would like to know what would be an option in the future,

Thanks,

"Upgradable" in this sense simply means that the cellular antenna is already pre-installed. All you have to do is drop in a compatible wireless card (check the Hardware Maintenance Manual for a list of approved cards), sign up for data service and install the SIM card.

sorry as I am sure I should know this,

When you say wireless card, do you mean a expresscard type thing or something to fit internally,

I have had a look at the hardware manual but cant see where it mentions it?
