x201 Tablet calibration problem

I recently got an X201T (tablet). The calibration does not work very well; it's about 1/8" (stylus distance from the line it's making), rendering it unusable for what I need it for. I have seen discussions on the Lenovo boards that say the issue is not fixable. I hope that's not true. I tried calling Lenovo support for months but they never answer the phone. I'm not sure if this is a hardware or software issue. The stylus from my old Toshiba Portege works better on it but I lost that stylus, and that was not perfectly calibrated either.
Any ideas? Should I just try to exchange the machine?

Thanks.

HereWeGo*.....
Sorry to hear about your dilemma; I also have had very FRUSTRATING time to do the SAME months ago........ and ENDLESS CALLS & EMAILS to Lenovo tech Support (try this PH- 1800 IBM SERV from USA). IT seems either Lenovo dont care and or dont have any answers/support items they HARDWARE THEY SUPPLIED.
I/We have had bought these Tablets for work(we have 1200+ various thinkpads) use and seems even our PREMIUM SUPPORT email requests dont get answered. I also called and left v.msgs to our account MANAGER from Lenovo!
From what I got told by IBM Developer of Touch Apps (who still do most of Apps/Software Dev'pmnt for TP) that there is nothing like "that avalible for any "touch" series machines". And we were advised to use #rd party Apps/Software to do that. He went on about "not able to calibrate the human touch as its 'mult-variable' etc etc ,,,,,,, so after explaining that I was ONLY INSTRESTED in CALIBRATION of the STYLUS (not fingure touch etc)....Blah blah ,,,,,,,,, I kinda gave up and RETURNED THESE LAPTOPS after 5 mths use - and we got FULL REFUNDs.......

Strangly; @RMA stage, even the CS Manager seemed to make comment - "OH - we have had quite a few returns due to YOUR ISSUES! - and we give you FULL REFUNDS.........................blah blah..
VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED @my best laptop bands for years - only pity is there is /ARE no others sullpier to switch to!!!

Sorry about the RANT - juz frustrated over this issue!

Hi, the number I've been calling is 800 426 7378, tech support.

When I first got the machine last October, I was able to get through, but since then have not--I gave up trying. I had problems with the wireless in my old apartment--had to restart the machine to get on it and if I stopped actively browsing for even a few minutes I'd have to restart. Did not happen everywhere. I had gotten through to tech support once about that issue and they tried to help, but it didn't work. Now I'm on DSL. That Web problem is another issue I saw discussed on the Lenovo forum that people also were frustrated about.

800-426-7378 is 800-IBM-SERV.   it's the exact same number. :D

try to avoid calling between noon and 1:00 PM or after 5:00 PM eastern time.   the phone lines tend to get quite busy when people are off work for lunch or out of work for the day.

Hi, I got through to them. Thanks for the suggestion about what time to call. They helped me find the new driver. There is no way I could have found that driver on my own. It's called by letters and numbers and there's no indication on the site of what machines or systems it's used with. Anyway, I installed it and the calibration is a lot better now. Not perfect, but usable. Maybe next I'll try some of the fixes to improve pressure sensitivity.
