ThinkPad Lenovo X200 Tablet locked 64GB Solid State Drive

#1 Post by basic » Sat Jan 15, 2011 1:06 am

I have the Lenovo X200 Tablet 64GB Solid State Drive. The SSD is locked in Bios, and I don't remember the password. Only the SSD is locked. Is it possible to unlock it. If I buy new SSD and istall it, would my X200 work?

SSD's are similar to hard drives in that if you put a password on it and you forget the password, the drive itself is good for a hockey puck.

If i buy new SSD or HD would it works or I still have problem with Bios? I locked only SSD, but I'm not sure how it works... Is Samsung AXM06D1Q 128GB 2.5" OK for x200 tablet, or it needs some adapter (frame)? My locked SSD is 1,8"

If you buy a new SSD it will not be locked. The password is stored on the drive itself.
