X301 Battery Life

#1 Post by u751920 » Fri Feb 11, 2011 4:33 pm

I have had my X301 for about 2 months and in that time the battery has been through 29 cycles. Although for the last 2 weeks or so it only went through one cycle per week and this will be the pattern from now on as I have got the lenovo ultraslim adaptor for in car and aeroplane use.
I got this message today on the battery icon (with the exclamation mark) "Lenovo Battery
The battery 1 can store 98% of it's original full charge capacity. Double click to learn about increasing battery lifespan
."

Just wondered if that's what I should have expected?

Cheers

Ps. I also use the bay battery

sounds about right.   batteries are a wear item, just like tires on a car.   eventually they'll need replaced.

Yup. 98% is not too bad. I've had my X301 for nearly 2 years and I don't use it away from an outlet that much. But my battery is 2.25 years old (mfg. 10.08) and has only 65% of the original charge left with only 95 cycles. I just ordered a 6-cell battery as they're on sale at Lenovo Hong Kong (only US$100!!).

Wow $100 that's a great price. I was thinking of buying a spare battery especially as the x301 is a discontinued model. Is there any information on how well they store? I guess I probably need a spare bay battery as it takes a real battering charge/discharge wise.

Not that I know off. The spare bay battery is quite expensive though, as it's not on sale.
