finally, I am getting another thinkpad, and more specifically, a thinkpad X200.
just won it on ebay, the winning big was $455.50, plus $25 shipping, and I had a 10% off coupon, so it came to $434, which I think is a really good deal.
I am a little worried about the authenticity of the windows install, and whether or not the disk is included. I guess I'll just have to wait and see
heres a link to the page itself:

I've been living on this Pentium 4 512mb ram behemoth for far to long... and before this, I had even slower computers after my X20 died in my arms. so finally, I get to use a thinkpad again!
I guess I should start cleaning out this computer I'm on though... but the file system is really tangled. I've been putting this off for years!

Glad you were able to get a good deal! Sorry for cutting you off on the X200 in the marketplace :X
The X200t I've been using seems significantly faster than my X60s, so you'll see worlds and worlds of difference coming from a X20.

Your auction regarding the W7 says, "installed and activated" -- Based on the Warranty left, the machine may have come with W7 preinstalled.
The Seller appears to be an individual with not too many sales, but all good feedback -- It may be his personal machine -- If I were shopping for an X200, I would have bid with that Seller, and I would expect the W7 install to be legit -- You can ask Seller for the product key, or you can use free software like Magic JellyBean, which will search your machine and find the key number for you.
I love my X200 -- have fun with yours

yeah, that was my reasoning for choosing him.
I've been burned before with an illegal install (from craigslist) so I am a bit cautious about it.
and my only real question is if it will come with the disk, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see...

" my only real question is if it will come with the disk,"
I'm gonna guess, if it included the disk, Seller would have listed it in the auction. But you are right, that is not always the case -- sometimes you get a bonus. Several Forum members have posted purchasing an X60 from a specific eBay Seller and unexpectedly (and not in the auction listing) receiving the Ultrabase. So you never know. Good luck!

well, I JUST got a shipping confirmation yesterday... ugh, and here I was waiting patiently everyday for it, thinking he just didn't want to bother with marking the item as shipped or, getting a tracking number...
so UPS says it will be here on the 1st of march.
and on another note, I am typing this out on a thinkpad T61 that I bought on ebay a day after my X200, I bought three for the family, and I am typing on dads. but sense dads in puerto rico, I have to say goodbye and ship this one off... but they'll have to pry it out of my cold hands!
its really nice, I haven't actually been able to make it so much as hiccup with normal usage. even with firefox and chrome, with tons of tabs in both, with flash running etc. and having sketchup or something chuncky running in the background no problem. this morning turning it on kinda slowed it down, but thats only because of the million and one apps in the system tray.
I can't even imagine the difference between this and the X200, I know on simple things that don't push it all the way to the top it won't be noticeable but I am still excited.
so, cheers for having to wait two weeks!

its here! and its awesome!
UPS came yesterday and left a note, and apparently they came about 20 minutes after we went to town, so I missed it yesterday.
but the battery came separately, and it came today, thinkvantage is telling me it isn't a genuine lenovo battery. so I am testing it right now.
so far I am really happy with it, its a great little computer.
one weird thing is it came with disk drive caddies, obviously for either the ultrabase or another model, but they aren't disk drives, they have slots for a sata hard drive. its really interesting.

just upgraded the hard drive to this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TOE4PQ
the hard drive that was in it was a fujitsu, 60GB, running at 5400 RPM
and this one is running at 7200. I haven't noticed a difference yet speed wise, but it is quite a bit louder, we'll have to wait and see if thats gonna be really annoying... but its louder than the CPU/GPU fan.
