Bad X301 SSD Upgrade Experince

#1 Post by Fleche » Mon Feb 28, 2011 11:46 am

Anyone have successfully upgraded their SSD on the X301?
Mine came with a 64GB SSD, I ordered a Lenovo 128GB SSD (Toshiba), but I couldn't get it to format on the X301, the drive itself is fine and works in a T410s.
Lenovo tech support is no help so I'm returning the drive.

Can anyone recommend a brand/model of SSD I can get that works?

i had an intel 160GB G2 in my X301.   it worked great.   it's now in my X200T with an adapter.

The Crucial C300 works perfectly.
I made an image backup from the original SSD, put in the C300, did an image restore and away it went. Easy peasy.

Thanks, I'll try the Crucial. I can't believe a Lenovo branded SSD will not work in their own laptop, even though it's listed as a compatible part. Even worse, they won't provide any support for it unless it was purchased directly from Lenovo! (Yes, the laptop is still under warranty)
