X201 tablet minimum power consumption at idle

Hey guys

I can get my X200T down to 5.25W at idle with the X25-M G2 SSD. Putting the same SSD into the X201T (with a 400 nit screen, but turned all the way down) I get a whopping 7W at idle.

This very crappy - X201T is consuming a whopping 33% more! It's using a 32nm chip, so I have no idea why this should be happening.

Is this normal?

Could it be that some drivers are mismatched? I'm assuming you're transferring the OS on the SSD as well?

Which driver?

Thing is, with the stock hard drive the X201 also has a high power consumption.

battery life simply isn't as good on the X201 series due to the processors using more energy.   if you need the absolute best battery life, the X200 series is still the winner.

Hmm looks like it's the CPU then.

But then again, that includes the graphics core for the Core i5, while the Core 2 has separate consumption for the chipset.

So is that right, can anyone with another X201T confirm that they get a whopping 7W min at idle?

LOL I just saw that for some stupid reason "CPU Deeper Sleep" is disabled in the Maximum Battery Life profile.

Now it's at 5.4W down from 7W with the X25M. This is normal, as I would have expected :)
