System Update is not finding updates

My System Update appears not to be finding any updates.

It always told me that I need some "doctor something" diagnostic tool which I always ignored. Then, after Lenovo came and replaced my motherboard (warranty), System Update started telling me that no updates were found. Suspicious.

Recently I've had problems with my microphone. The driver was not up to date and System Update was not finding this. To double check I uninstalled the Connexant software and ran System Update again. Still told me that no updates were necessary.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the latest System Update. No change.

All this seems to have started after the Motherboard was replaced.

Suggestions?

Thank you!

first, what is the 7 digit code for your computer? Second, if you go into the bios, do you see a serial number in the main screen or is it blank? if it is blank then system update does not have the information required to find the updates, and that is the lenovo tech who replaced the board's fault.

In order to enter the seial number yourself, you need to have a copy of the hardware maintance diskette, which we are not allowed to discuss or distribute on this forum.

Google is your friend

Hi. The code for my system is 2777CTO (custom machine). Below is a pic of my Bios display. Looks like the serial number is there. Maybe Lenovo don't have a record of my system since the mother board was replaced?

I've opened a service request with Lenovo seeing as this happened after their engineer replaced the mother board. Even though it's a software issue that's not covered by warranty. Will see what they say.

looks like the service tech simply left off the leading "2" when he/she used the hardware disk to reset the system unit s/n in your bios. that's why tvsu isn't finding updates for you... there's no such machine as a 777CTO. ooops! :BAAAD!:
