x220 SSD and WWAN

Hi all,

I'm a little confused here on the options:
- I believe that the WWAN and SSD seem to use the same space. Right?

- If I want to have WWAN on the x220 but also SSD, then can the SSD sit where the HD would sit (so no HD, SSD only)? And in that case, which SSD options are applicable?

Thanks,
Charlie

There is a standard SSD card that fits in the hard drive slot. There there is an mSATA mini SSD on a card that fits in a miniPCI slot. The miniPCI slot is where a WWAN card might go. You could have both an mSATA SSD drive and standard SSD drive in an X220 at the same time. Note that the standard SSD drives that fit in an X220 are only 7mm thick. 9mm thick drives are much more common.

Note that it's going to be a better idea to buy whatever option you end up choosing off of an online computer site such as Newegg- because that Intel 310 SSD is NOT worth 330 dollars.
Neither is the main 120 GB SSD worth 400.

Your choices are pretty much limited to the Intel X-25/320 series.

It's also a better bet to get a larger main SSD than the mPCIe one since any other Intel SSD is faster than the 310 is.
