x220i vs x220

#1 Post by visionviper » Tue May 03, 2011 1:12 pm

I am looking to make a laptop purchase for my upcoming school year and I have more or less decided on getting an x220. Looking at the options, Lenovo offers 2 series: the x220i and the x220. The only difference I was able to see was that the i has a Core i3 instead of an i5. Is that the only difference? I just want to make sure before I hastily make a decision to save money that comes back to bite me.

As a side note, when do you guys find to be the best time for a new laptop purchase? The beginning of the summer or the end of the summer closer to when school starts and (I assume) a lot of computer buying goes on for the new school year?

Yes, you are correct. X220i has i3. I don't know if anything else that is different from the X220, maybe some slight changes in configuration options.

Not sure about your 2nd question.
