So, I just got a used X200 on eBay. It's perfectly fine, except that it reeks of cigarette smoke! I've been letting it air our which has been helping, but does anyone have any specific advice as to how to make this awful stench of death go away faster?

Some good ideas here -

I think that if you remove the keyboard and blow the dust out of the fan (hold the blades still) and also from the complete interior that would be an improvement. Then wipe the outside with an ammonia based cleaner (not Windex w/ ammonia D). Putting the laptop in a bag with activated charcoal at night sounds like it would also help but would be a slow process.

Paint stores sell TSP, which is a solution used to clean walls before repainting. Not sure if you want to use it though as it also can dull a shiny surface (so new paint will adhere). It will, however, absolutely remove all the smell and the carcinogens possibly stuck on your ThinkPad. Think it through however as this would be major decision giving it is a liquid and it is strong.
