X301: Hinges getting loose
After 1.5 year of heavy usage the hinges of my X301 seem to get a little loose.
As I'm still very satisfied with the machine I'll keep it as long as possible, so I would like to fix the problem (well, it is not yet a problem, but it seems it will be).
I had a look at this link (http://www.lenovoservicetraining.com/io ... index.html) and around in the internet, but I wasn't able to find information on how to fix the hinges.
Can anyone advice?
Thanks a lot.
Edmond

the hinges aren't serviceable. you'll need to replace them.

Thanks Erik for your answer.
Does this mean I have to replace the whole LCD frame?

no... thinkpad hinges are available separately from the rest of the LCD components. on this particular thinkpad they're literally available seperately (typically they're sold in pairs).

you'll need FRU numbers 4 and 8 in that diagram (42X5134 and 42X5135).
if you can't find the parts through online retailers, the following link will provide both a phone number and means to order online in switzerland direct from IBM.

Got myself a ThinkPad 600E with broken hinges, can I repair old hinges instead of buying new ones?
