I apologize my ignorance but perhaps I can find here someone to enlighten me.

I'm considering to purchase X220.
My requirement is USB 3.0 so that leaves me only i7 option - right?

The i7 model is available with 160 GB SSD and 320 GB HDD hard drive.
That 160 GB alone is not enough for my.

Quite many have bought the model with 320 GB HDD and installed mSATA SSD also.
What is the advantage of this solution? How is it shown in my computer? 2 separate discs or some hybrid drive?

So basically my possibilities are to buy one [censored] expensive >250 GB SSD or go for HDD only or HDD and mSATA SSD solution. Witch one should I go for?

If I go for HDD only is it possible to easily go for SSD or HDD+SSD solution later?

PS. I'm aware of the problem: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-Th ... d-p/447781
And not going to make my mind before there is a solution.

The cheapest solution is to go for a small mSATA drive and a large conventional SATA hard drive. They are seen as two separate drives in BIOS and by an OS, and are both boot-able. It is always less expensive to buy drives from a source other than Lenovo, unless they are running a free upgrade special.
