Does anyone know how to overclock an X200 laptop? I've search all over this forum, google, and can't find an answer.

Why would you want to do that?

So I can render my 1080p camera footage more efficiently in Adobe Premiere. Anyone know how to overclock? I only need a small bump, frm 2.4Ghz to 2.8Ghz.

You might be able to get an extra 133MHz using ThrottleStop if your CPU supports IDA.

In reality, you would probably get better results trying to minimize extraneous CPU usage from other programs.

You can't really. The BIOS doesn't have overclocking features and software overclocking is, well, problematic to say the least.

You can use a program called SetFSB, but only if the motherboard's PLL is supported. In addition to that, the PLL may limit the frequencies that can be set completely, possibly not allowing you to select the FSB speed you want/need.

As far as I know, the motherboard in the X200 is not supported by SetFSB. The only way to find out for sure would be to find the PLL on the motherboard and look it up on the supported list.
