X220 - antenna, MSS Drive and USB 3 question

#1 Post by don » Wed Jul 13, 2011 2:59 pm

Hey guys,

just ordered a X220 and I have a couple of questions:

1.) Does the 3 x 3 or the Gobi antenna "lay on" the display frame? I saw this hobble on a X220 tablet and was wondering if the 3 x 3 option will have this bump on top of the frame.

2.) My order confirmation states: "NO MSSDRIVE". What is that?

3.) I ordered an i7. Does that include the actual USB 3 port?

Thanks,

Don

What do you mean by a "hobble"?

It most likely means that didn't order a mini-SATA drive in your system configuration.

For an X220, you get one USB 3.0 port when you configure an i7 in the CTO build.... I don't know for sure what happens with an X220T.

Cheers,

There's no bump on the top of the frame. The 3x3 is actually the wifi, not the wwan BTW. Only downside is it uses the space for the camera, but the thinklight is still there.

X tablets have come with the antenna bump above the screen for a while now. The X220T is no different.

Ah I was referring to the x220 (not tablet) - thought that's what the OP had ordered.
