Thinkpad X220 Vs X220T with IPS screens

#1 Post by mulleady » Tue Aug 16, 2011 3:26 pm

I have now been convinced to invest in a new Thinkpad from the X220 series thanks to this forum.

I also like the features of the tablet version but one review and some comments on various blogs have said the IPS screen on the tablet is more washed out than the non-tablet X220? Has anyone experience of this? Some reviewers were also commenting the tablet version is more sluggish?

Tablet displays have extra coating for either multitouch or the pen interface, which tend to affect the viewing characteristics of the display. Multitouch is usually worse viewing characteristic than the pen interface. There is also some glass in front of the LCD in the tablets I think. The X220T also may run ULV processor rather than the regular processor found in X220.
