I'm considering ordering an X-220 but I'm unclear on the difference between the display options. The Lenovo order page lists 12.5" HD and 12.5" Premuim HD displays with no linked explanation of the difference between the two. Is the Premium HD the IPS display? The IPS seems to be the one most preferred, correct? Are the displays matte finish or glossy?

Both are matte. The IPS 12.5" Premuim HD display has much better color and viewing angles.

Which is the best option for a wireless card with integrated broadband? I can choose either the intel Centrino 6250 or a Sierra Wireless MC8355. I'll be with Verizon. Is it better to use one of the other wireless N cards and broadband card from Verizon?

The Intel Centrino 6250 is for a WiFi connection. The Sierra Wireless MC8355 is for a WWAN cellular connection. I opted for an ExpressCard cellular modem myself. Easier to replace as cellular technology advances.

EDIT: Well the Intel Centrino 6250 includes WiMAX (in addition to WiFi) - a broadband technology. Don't know too much about it myself. I believe only Sprint offers WiMax in the US at the moment. Could be wrong though.

You can also get WiMAX from Clear, which currently provides Sprint's 4G. Best Buy also sells a 4G plan, with or without a contract, that utilizes Clear's WiMAX network. Check the coverage map on Clear's website for availability.

How bad is the standard HD display? I got a ridiculously good deal on my X220i, but not from Lenovo directly and not with the IPS display. For working with text and occasionally watching a movie in a hotel room is the standard display adequate? I don't care about others being able to read or see it from an angle.
