X220 128 SSD Enough?

I am concerned that with Win 7 x 64 and the various Lenovo programs, 128G will not be enough for say 60 Gig of storage (files etc.)
Anyone here run 128G on their X220, and if so approx how much space is left over.
Cheers

If you're concerned whether 128GB is enough, why no pick up the msata drive, unless of course you need WWAN. You could then leave the platter drive in the bay for storage. You shouldn't need speed for storage.

Good point. Does the Msata support SATA 3.
I have a x220t build date late August and Bios 1.21
Cheers

The 64bit version of Win7 requires 20GB of disk space according to MS. So how bad can it get? I very much doubt that some Lenovo tools and drivers will require more than 500MB of space – the rest depends on what software you want to install. But unless you want to install some modern games which can easily use up 10GB or more (per game) there shouldn’t be a problem in my opinion.

FYI 64GB is plenty
If you disable hibernation, pagefile, tablet PC components, and extras you don't need (like IE9) you can get the install to 8GB. I know I did.

It does not, but that's probably not a big deal for real world usage.

In real world use, SSD's get most of their performance gain over HDD's from their zero access time. The difference between a burst rate of 250 vs 325 won't make a real world difference.

Thanks for the replies, it is greatly appreciated. I have decided that with the feedback given 128Gb is plenty. I do not play games, and I am sure that I can trim some 'fat' of some of the system software as well. I have an external drive just in case.
The impetus for an ssd has been both the price and the speed increase, via a bios update for the M4 Crucial. Thanks again for the advice and guidance.
Cheers

Keep in mind too that as SSDs fill, the performance degrades. You probably don't want to go much above 85-90GB. If at some point down the road you acquire some more data, that may require a new drive. With a msata drive you could potentially have 580GB of storage.
