One of the reasons I usually buy used computers is that they have been tested to work.
What I really missed and wished for was the ability to go to an Apple Store and have it either fixed or (if new) replaced on the spot.

Worse than the hassle of return is the lost data. I had just finished drafting a legal brief this weekend and now have to re-do it.

Hi asia*;
lets cheer with a beer together - I got my X220T = SENT FOR REFUND.
Couldnt see myself wiasting time on things on tech nature despite the ABove par screen specs on thinkpads! Like you - bills have to be paid and I often go with what WORKS - and no markeing BS ...blah blah ...didnt want to bother with paperwork! - show me the money!

Got a Sony Z Series machine already in use. So far so good. Mac13.3 (with Ipad2) sits nicely in laptop bag as backup everyday!

unlike you - I have to stick with Windows as my comany is not comfortable with 'Apple's security /network/VPN" handelings. However most of time these machines I use are fully configured for LINUX+ Windows + OSX, so I get to play with best suitable as needed. Pity no-one has come up with a way to triple boot and have all 3 OS runing and one can switch from one to other !! BE PURE JOY for me on....\

Cheers

Well I need Windows for military forms (digital signature with CAC card) and the X220 was tailor-made for it with the ExpressCard 54 slot. I also like to play games when I travel and the SSD on the MacBook Air is just too small to partition a large-enough Windows game partition. I may look into one of those 240 GB SSD options from OWC for the 11" Air, as I only need about 100 GB for OS X and can get Windows down comfortably with four or five games to 120 GB.

I don't know if I'll be buying another PC for military and light gaming or not. It has to be under $1000 and have at a minimum Sandybridge graphics, if not a discreet chip, and MUST weigh less than four lbs. Maybe I'll just get a refurb C2D MacBook Air and go Windows-only on it. The slower processor is more than made up for with the faster nVidia graphics.

Yeah, no kidding!

For now I am back to using a VM on my MacBook Air for military duty and hauling the gigantic (5.5 lbs) MacBook Pro when I want to game.
