Recent slowdown in X220 with SSD

#1 Post by WilsonF » Thu Sep 15, 2011 7:36 pm

Something has recently caused a drastic increase in the boot time of my X220 i7 with 8GB of RAM and the 160GB SSD (4286-CTO). I think it may be the display driver because the lag seems to be a delay with a black screen between the time when the "starting Windows" flag disappears and the GUI appears. However, I'm not sure that it's the display driver because another family member with an X61T and an SSD seems to have developed the same problem.

Has anyone else seen this?

Does anyone know where I can find the previous driver version? The current Lenovo driver matrix doesn't seem to point to prior versions.

Thanks.
Wilson

It's a long time since I've used it, but BootVis used to be handy for isolating this kind of problem:

In case it's not the driver.
