x200s Clock running slow (losing 20 min/day)

#1 Post by ajdedo » Sun Sep 18, 2011 5:10 am

Hi,

My x200s clock has started to run slow, I'm losing up to 20 minutes a day, maybe more. I'm running XP SP3.

Is it hardware or software?

Thanks.

try to reset the CMOS battery and see what happens. This could be a hardware issue, and would require a new motherboard.

By "reset the CMOS battery", do you mean replace it with a new battery?

I believe what lead_org was suggesting is to either re-seat the connector and if that doesn't work, replace it with a new battery. However, you may want to read this thread:

and see if a recent BIOS update was applied.
