Need quick confirmation- T400 LCD to T61?

#1 Post by LegendaryKA8 » Thu Nov 17, 2011 12:07 am

To make a long story short, my better half needs a notebook for her coursework and I came across a 14.1" T61 for the right price. It has the WXGA display, and I have a WXGA+ panel left over from my T400 when I swapped over from CCFL to LED. Am I correct in the assumption that I can simply swap the displays out just in case she has a need for more resolution?

Absolutely correct, just swap panels. You can use the same inverter and LCD cable.

Note: I wouldn't call it "simple". Removing the back cover of the LCD assembly (T61, R61, R400, T400) without damage is probably the most challenging ThinkPad upgrade steps. However, it sounds like you've done it before. Proceed with caution.
